It's been 2 weeks

This past weekend I skipped my exercises on sunday, and only did it once on saturday.  I noticed my arm painfully clicking after I played softball friday .  I noticed while doing the exercise with my back on the ground and doing the spinal twist with the leg, my right arm tendinitis is acting up less.  One thing is consistent, I always felt better after doing the exercises. I'm still trying to measure improvements while at the office, like how long I can sit before the pain returns.  I would say maybe a bit better?

Maybe I have to start using a timer or something to make this measurable.

tuesday, 1 week later

Only did 1 set today this evening, and I felt better after it, especially using the foam roller to loosen things up.  The exercise in which you arch your back when you're on all fours and drop your head, the dropping your head part feels very unnatural.

Besides that, I'm not very confident about these exercises.  It's difficult to measure how much pain has been reduced on my neck/shoulders area.  It feels good now, but next morning when I wake up, and start work at the office, my neck and shoulders will get tight and hurt again.

Yes, the whole tightness thing.  It just feels like something is locked and tight around my shoulders/neck area. My colleague at work who is a former chiropractor recommends getting some sort of adjustment. And I found one that I really want to try out.

Sunday and Monday's exercises

Sunday, I did a set in the middle of the afternoon, and late at night before bed.

Today, did a set around 10am, did another set after yoga this evening, followed by rolling on a foam roller on my back. I really felt like the foam roller made a difference.  My neck and shoulders feel a lot better right now.

7/12/14 exercises

Once again, I only did the exercises once on this Saturday.  I had so many things come up that morning that it was hard to find time to do so.  Hopefully today I can do a 2 sets.

Once thing I did notice yesterday as I was moving around from errand to errand that morning, my right side (neck and shoulders) was bothering me a little instead.  Still sore and tight on my left, but not bothering me as usual.  However as I am typing this very morning, definitely my left side is bothering me again. Hard to describe the feeling of it. Not a sharp pain, but a soft one.  If I try stretching out my neck by titling it to the right, inside my left shoulder blade feels a little painfully sore. Definitely the entire area around my left neck/shoulders are tender, probably from all the pressure of sleeping on it.

Noticing the before and after is still difficult for me, but last night when I did my exercises, I didn't feel too much different, I guess the pain wasn't as present as usual.  Shortly afterwards and going on a dinner out with my friends, my left shoulder/neck pain starting to come back towards the end of the night.  Probably the bad booths at the dinner table we were sitting on (rarely find a good chair to sit on these days).

4th day of exercises

Well, I slept very well last night, about 7 hrs, it's been a while since I slept that long, except I woke up with a very stiff neck.  After I started my work day, my left side again was bothering me.  Did my exercises around lunch hr and I felt better afterwards.  My right tidonitis really feels a stretch, doesn't bother me yet to the point where I feel like I need to stop.  I really feel like the exercise where I'm on my back arching and flattening back and forth feels very worthless. I know Angie tell me my body adapts fast, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense when my body feels like it's sitting and doing the same thing over and over again.  Why would my body adapt to 1/2 hr of exercises when I'm sitting and doing other similar stuff all day everyday for 8+ hrs a day?

Towards the last hr at work, I know my neck/shoulders were bothering me again, just had to get up and move them around.  Just finished playing a game of softball after work, wasn't much of a workout, but a good stress reliever, and disrupts my routine enough to where I'm typing this at home right at 8:15pm with very little discomfort.  I'm avoiding sitting on my office chair because it's just not comfortable.

I been talking about this with a former chiropractor at work, and I feel like I really really want to try a new chiropractor to adjust me.  It's because I realized a couple of weeks ago, I flipped over my mountain bike while riding on some new trails.  It was a soft landing but it was on my shoulder.  It didn't bother me at first but the following weekend I had to drive back to my hometown and back for a high school reunion and all that sitting and driving I'm assuming really aggravated that area.  Hence, I think there's something out of alignment that I'm not sure I can fix.

3rd day of exercises

1st day ever doing the exercises in the morning, and in the evening near bedtime.  I realized it's easier just to go to the gym because they have everything set up nicely.  Some of my observations:

My left knee only hurts after stretching if I lay down for a little bit.  Right now after my evening set, it doesn't bother me at all.

I notice when I do the exercise with my legs up against the wall, in addition to feeling the stretch more on my right side, I feel it specifically around my ankle area.  I also notice that right foot is pronating (my foot is rotated inside, if I were to stand up and maintain the pronating position, the inside of my right foot would be higher than the outside of my foot).

I didn't notice too much before/after for the morning stretch.  Didn't feel particularly better after the morning stretch.  However this evening, I did my mountain bike ride and felt great!  But immediately when I hopped into my car and started driving home, my left shoulder/neck area started bothering me again.  I eventually made my way to the gym that evening and did my exercises.  1/2 hr later as I'm typing this, I feel almost little to no pain at all.  Maybe my right arm tidonitis a little bit, but that's all.

To be continued...

EDIT on 7/11 at 8:10 pm: I forgot to mention that my right ankle was previously fractured, so that might have something to do with it.

2nd day of trying new exercises

So far, I have not noticed an improvement in my neck/shoulders.  I'm still working on waking up early enough so I can incorporate an exercise in the morning and sometime in the evening.  Hopefully by tomorrow.  I noticed that doing the 2 stretches that requires my feet being straight and pull back is biased on my right side; definitely more stretching going on.  Also afterwards, I notice a soft pain in my right knee that disappeared after 15ish minutes.  Later throughout the day, I notice my lower left back doing something (not sure what it is, not painful at all, I just feel it, which is weird because I never have issues with my left side of my back).
